“Once in a lifetime”.
We get to type that more than anyone selling something should - but we can because this is HARD to do, and the statement is true when we type.
Finding and doing what we do with these uber special types lf clubs is a joy. but it’s stressful, and requires lots of $ up front and….we’ll stop there.
We do it bc we LOVE IT. Period. And if you get A box from us, we are confident you will be very happy with what is inside.
UPDATE:
this yoro SET Now come with a gift from us: Yoro double strap stand bag.
ALSO
Since first posting we have also learned that this set is waaaaaaaaay rarer than we first believed, and that is why price is higher.
To learn how rare the bag was, which triggered an update an repricing > whatvwas our process? how did we do it?
Not too hard: we were contacted by the private auction group and informed the item had an incorrect reserve price, was told how many sets they believe were made*, and that we owed nearly $500 more (it was already an expensive set given what we usually pay) - normally, we’d tell them that’s illegal or something…but - we want access to this group and the price makes a lot more sense now.
The lack of participation in this auction Makes sense too…the “smart money” assumed the clubs must not be in the shape represented by pictures. Or they are fake, etc. This happens - for real.
*”Possibly one set; no more than 15 sets.” 15 is a CYA number given the research we did. Someone wanted Mizzie version of the 75 Mac Tourney, its possible Yoro made a few, and gun to Our head we’d guess 1-5 is the range. We normally don’t bother with speculation like this bc this isnt some million dollar auction for a tiger back up putter. We should list for 5k but lots of our sets should be in that 3-7k range. We are not buying (much - stay tuned for some Pricier things that dont need docs) stuff with provenance docs that would make our initial cost north of $2k a set. And so you see the prices you do.
——————-
Again, we mean it: these are a once in a lifetime purchase for someone.
Fairly skinny top line but not scary, and quite a forgiving golf club. On top, whether you take apart and put new shafts and grips on (we stronglY Recommend keeping original ferrules, shafts amd grips intact and together which they will Be if we pull for you) or not, you have quite a collectible here.
Shafts:
Original DG R-400
(or course we will swapmout and put whatever you want in if you choose; We’ll send shafts with yoro ferrules intact (we can Do it 99% of time and you eill have most worst case.)
Grips:
Original Mizunos
(if you’d like to buy new grips and have us install, we can do it <and Reshaft per above
Ferrules:
Original “Y” for Yoro Serial #’S, Black w/ 2 gold stripes
(we can swap for BBFCO ferrules of your choice just like above grips and shafts - we’ll be in touch after purchase and send an invoice).
Finish:
Blue Neckade (raw)
<just a reminder since we haven’t typed this in a while…you can always be rechromed and the before pica are on our instagram feed just in case that purist collector with $7k in his pocket catches a glimpse).
Finally, we gwt this questikn all the time:
What would we do if we bought The set?
We would absolutely pull the intact ferrules+ahafts+grips and put them somewhere safe. Then we’s shaft with fujikura Axiom 125x shafts, which are black. The reshafting is most important and yes we would do it.
Below aesthetics is just what we would do - do you!
>use a white based ferrule with gold and light blue somewhere, black based if white base not possible, and grip with no1 tiffany grips or no1 white with black trim grips. All black grips always good. Classic look would be white widow bbf&co ferrules and all black grips. Boom.
